Activity 11 Writing activities
Your child may be ready for letter formation and writing his/her name. Ensure that the child is introduced to the correct letter formation. Provide the child with arrowed letters to act as a guide. Provide the child with a multi- sensory approach to writing and letter formation. Choose only one activity each time and build up from there.
The child’s name can be written with textured letters so he/she develops sensory formation of the letters. Shaving cream or toothpaste can also be use on a tray for tracing as shown below.
Apart from the child’s name, practice only a few letters each time. The child should feel comfortable instead of overwhelmed.
