How long did the caterpillar stay in the cocoon? Do some prompting, 1 day? 2 days? You make comparison to the length of time it took for the caterpillar to become a butterfly and the time it takes a baby to come out of mummy’s tummy. The cocoon can be compared to the tummy where the baby grows until it is ready to come out.
You can use fabric or toilet paper to swaddle the child to mimic being in a cocoon. Let the child pretend that he/she is the butterfly coming out of the cocoon.
